In the fall of 2008, we were approached by a client to create a website which showcased over a thousand full-length television episodes and were required to support at least 200,000 visitors on the first day of the launch. That, and we were given just six weeks to do it…
Back on July 9th I had the opportunity to re-present the RailsConf talk about this project that Ed Laczynski, of Zype Media Group, and I gave back at RailsConf 2009 in Las Vegas. This time it was for the Orlando Ruby Users Group and I restructured it a bit to target the smaller, more hands-on audience.

That was a great video. I was just talking to someone on Sunday about doing something similar, though probably smaller scale initially, so that really helped me understand some of the issues we will face in the planning stages.
